Zotac GTX 560 Ti 448 Limited Edition Review
The latest in the GTX chip series from Nvidia has been released, and Zotac are bringing it into the world with a bang. The Zotac GTX 560 Ti 448 Limited Edition is an amazing card, although it should be considering its price of around £220.
So what is it that makes is special? Well, as the name suggests, this stonking graphics card has 448 cores for CUDA use. Also, when you buy it, right away it’s been overclocked ever so slightly (33MHz) to be precise from the default clock setting. The best thing is, you can tweak the clock on it some more, giving you even more of a boost, which should really help when playing more demanding games. The highest clock setting you should be able to achieve on this card for a stable setup is 850 MHz, up from 765MHz in it’s factory condition.
A huge benefit of this card is that for those with tight cases, it isn’t the bulkiest of cards, so you should be able to get it into your system with relatives ease. This is of great importance when you factor in the operating temperature of the card. When idling, and with Windows Aero active, the card maintains a temperature of 13°C and at its peak under heavy load, the card reached a temperature of 55°C.
In terms of benchmarks when it comes to Crysis 2, when running in DX 11 mode, and all setting at max you’ll achieve 24 frames per second. Also, in the case of Shogun 2, again in DX 11 and at max settings you’ll achieve 42 frames per second.
For Dirt 2, at full HD (1080p) in DX 11 mode, the game achieved an astonishing frame rate of 92 frames per second. With respect to Battlefield 3, with the same settings the game achieved an impressive 40 frames per second.
The card also has 1,290 MB of memory, running at a speed of 950 MHz. The question is though, should you buy it? This really depends on how old your old graphics card is, how much money you have, and how much you’re really wanting to get some extra performance. Aslo, even if you waited a few months, it will come down, possibly around the sub £200 mark. What I would suggest is that if you can't go any higher than around £230, then this is the graphics card for you.
